Cole leads Base Construction as Director, with 19 years of experience in the construction industry, Cole has a solid background on the tools, holds qualifications in Carpentry and is a Licenced Building Practicitioner (LBP), he has a sharp eye on the bigger picture, he focuses on keeping everything progressing in the right direction — from supporting the team and refining systems to staying true to the company’s goals and values. Cole’s practical leadership and commitment to building a positive culture have played a key role in shaping Base as it continues to grow.
Chris brings 19 years of industry experience and qualifications in Carpentry and LBP certification. He leads the day-to-day engine room of Base Construction as General Manager and is the go-to person for setting projects up for success – coordinating teams, managing logistics, meeting with clients, and making sure every detail is in place. Chris ensures things run smoothly and efficiently. His depth of experience and steady leadership are key to keeping Base moving forward with confidence.
Grant is one of the Founding Directors of Base Construction, having established the company alongside Cole. Grant has a sharp eye for the big picture and has played a key role in shaping the direction and values of the business from day one. While not often in the office, his influence continues to guide the team and support the long-term vision that drives Base forward.
Aimee joined the Base Construction team in late 2020 as Office Manager, bringing with her more than 20 years of administration experience, including seven years within the construction sector. Aimee has contributed to a range of large-scale developments, including retirement villages, high-end residential projects, and hotel builds. Known for her attention to detail and proactive approach to compliance, Aimee plays a key role in ensuring that administrative and operational processes run seamlessly across the business.
With 14 years in the construction industry, Tim brings a versatile mix of experience across commercial and residential projects. His strengths lie in business development and sales management, backed by hands-on knowledge of project coordination, team leadership, and client engagement. Tim thrives on building strong relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction, and keeping projects moving with clear communication and purpose. His combination of operational insight and people-first thinking makes him a key driver of growth and connection at Base.
Paul brings specialised expertise to his role as a Quantity Surveyor at Base Construction with over 30 years of industry experience . A qualified member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS), he focuses on cost management and financial oversight across projects. Paul plays a key role in ensuring accurate pricing, efficient planning, and strong commercial outcomes.
Carabelle joined Base in 2023 and has quickly become an essential part of the team. In her role as Project Administrator and Health & Safety Representative, she focuses on streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and keeping things running safely and smoothly behind the scenes. With a keen eye for organisation and a proactive mindset, Carabelle helps create structure and clarity across projects – supporting the team to do their best work every day.
Bodie joined the Base Construction team in 2020 as a Foreman and now leads as Site Manager. With over 20 years of hands-on building experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge across commercial construction, with a particular passion for concrete work. Specialising in precast construction, Bodie has in-depth expertise in casting and erecting panels on site. He leads his teams with a practical, results-driven approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship on every project.
With a wealth of global experience spanning over 30 years, Russell brings deep expertise and a steady hand to the Base Construction team. He has spent a decade working across commercial and residential builds in New Zealand, 15 years in Japan installing seismic-isolated foundations, and nine years in a planning role in the Philippines. Known for his strategic thinking, structural insight, and calm leadership on site, Russell is a trusted contributor to complex and high-performing projects.
Lyndon has spent the last five and a half years building his career in construction with Base where he’s become known for his strong communication, time management, and natural leadership. He’s completed both a Foundations Apprenticeship and a Civil Commercial Construction Apprenticeship, and is now preparing to begin his Supervision Level 5 Certificate. Lyndon continues to grow his impact by mentoring apprentices and championing high standards across the team.
With three years of experience in the foundation industry, Jacob brings a solid and growing skill set to the team. He holds a Level 3 Certificate in Foundation Construction and is committed to continuous improvement on the job. Whether it’s refining techniques or adopting new methods of practice, Jacob consistently looks for ways to boost quality and efficiency – making him a valuable part of the Base crew.
Leigh brings 12 years of experience to the construction industry, backed by qualifications in both building and, prior to that, floor slabs and foundations. With a the technical skill and on-site experience, Leigh is known for his precision, reliability, and consistent work ethic. He approaches each job with a focus on accuracy and punctuality, and isn’t afraid to take on challenges outside of his comfort zone. Leigh’s steady presence, eye for detail, and commitment to doing things right make him a valuable part of the Base team.

Precast
Base Construction manufacture and install a range of precast elements including panels, and custom components. Precast provides strength, durability and a faster build time. Our team works with clients from design to installation, ensuring every product meets project specifications and industry standards.
How long does a concrete floor slab take to complete?
Project timelines vary, but most residential slabs are completed within a week, depending on weather and site readiness.
What areas do you service?
We are based in Canterbury but travel throughout the South Island, delivering quality concrete and construction solutions wherever your project is located.
Do you handle council compliance and inspections?
Yes, we take care of scheduling and attending all required council and engineer inspections to ensure your project meets compliance requirements.
Can you work in with my consultants and subcontractors?
Yes, we collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and subcontractors – including builders, plumbers, drainlayers, and in-slab heating specialists – to ensure a smooth and coordinated construction process.
